A few years ago, I finished one wall of our basement, creating a Movie theater, lighted marker panels, a large magnetic wall board, all with a compound crown molding and multiple columns. One part I had yet to finish, though, was the alcoves on either side of the theater screen. Unsure exactly how to finish them, I finally decided to finish with scraped bamboo flooring that had a coloring that coordinated with the wall color. The final outcome does provide a good contrast, especially after adding the canvassed photographs we took in Page, Arizona in the Antelope Canyons.
To see previous steps in creating the home theater wall, see my previous post here. Also check out the light panels and magnetic wall here.

This is great!
