After the fireplace and posts were finished, I started framing, but right as I started framing, the patio contractor was ready to start. First up was remove the existing concrete patio, and once that plus the steps were gone and they laid the stone foundation, it became clear how big of an expansion the new patio would end up being. They made pretty quick work of laying the main course of patio. It was interesting to see them lay the normal stone, and then come back and cut out the space for the inlay that would be under the structure. We had really like the combination of the normal stone with the cobble border, and really liked how it turned out on our patio and how it tied with our house. With the patio done, it became fully my turn to work on the structure itself!
